Houlding named 2024 Sr. Farmer

Robert Houlding, Jr. and his wife Sandra have been married for more than 50 years. Bob will be honored as the 2024 Senior Farmer of the Year on October 3.
Like his father was honored in 1998, Robert (Bob) T. Houlding Jr. will be honored this year as the Madera Chamber of Commerce’s Senior Farmer of the Year.
Houlding, who said he is receiving this award on behalf of his two brothers, Jerry and Mike, will be honored on October 3 at the Madera Municipal Golf Course at 6 p.m.The dinner will recognize Houlding for his 55-year career in farming and contributions to local agriculture in Madera.
“I think I’m accepting for the Houlding brothers,” he said. “That’s what it’s been our whole lives.”
