Hot shooting downs Torres girls

The Matilda Torres Toros girls basketball team couldn’t stay with the Clovis North Broncos’ hot shooting in a 49-38 loss in its home opener.


The Broncos made seven 3-pointer sin the first half and 10 in Tuesday’s game. The Toros didn’t help themselves. They shot just 22 percent from the field, including going 1-of-10 from 3-point land.


Ariana Garcia led the Toros with a double-double (15 points, 13 rebounds). She had six offensive rebounds and four steals.
