Madera’s Aaliyah Hernandez, with her parents, is all smiles after signing a National Letter of Intent to cheer at Hope International University.
Competitive Sport Cheer is a relatively new sport within the Central Section and the Madera high schools.
In just two short years, the Madera Coyote Competitive Sport Cheer team is making a name for itself within the Central Section. After heading to the Central Section championships this season, they will also have their second college signee after Aaliyah Hernandez singed a National Letter of Intent to Hope International University.
“I’m a tumbler, but I side base and back spot,” she said. “I did everything for Madera High Cheer, including stunt cheer. I didn’t get a break during the game time. I’ve been doing stunt cheer for two years prior to this year.”
