Hawks get revenge with dominant win

Tyler Takeda/The Madera Tribune

Liberty’s Shane Williams breaks into the open field to score on a 44-yard touchdown run, his second of four touchdowns in Liberty’s 56-21 win Friday over Caruthers.

Last year, the Liberty Hawks were confident in facing the Caruthers Blue Raiders to open Northwest Sequoia Conference play.

Unfortunately, the Blue Raiders had Hunter Babb, and he rushed for more than 300 yards, and was still gaining yards deep into the fourth quarter with the game more than decided in a

58-27 victory.

This year, it was the Hawks doing all the running in a 56-12 victory Friday over the Blue Raiders. The Hawks scored on seven of their nine possessions with the other two possessions coming at the end of both halves. They rushed for 452 yards with 10 different ball carriers.
