Gray, Shevenell named top players

For the first time in his collegiate career, Madera South standout Murf Gray has been named Mountain West Freshman of the Week following his standout performance in a series sweep against UNLV.

Over the past week, Gray was a key factor in all four Bulldog matchups and owned a .375 average with six hits, two RBIs and three runs over 16 at bats.

Gray had three hits in Saturday’s victory against UNLV, including an RBI single in the top of the second inning.
