Madera Coyote three-sport standout Alec Gamboa enjoyed his best season as a professional. He finished the year with a 9-4 record and a 3.66 ERA while pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Double-A and Triple-A affiliates.

For former Madera Coyote football, wrestling and baseball standout, Alec Gamboa would consider his 2023 professional baseball season a success.

Gamboa originally started the year in Double-A Tulsa for the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team he grew up idolizing. Then, he was moved up to Triple-A Oklahoma City for a start, then moved down. Two weeks later, he got the call he was going back to Oklahoma City, but it was for good.

Overall, Gamboa had an excellent year, although his September was rough. He finished 2023 with a 9-4 record, overall, with a 3.66 ERA. He tossed 76 and 1/3 inning, and recorded 76 strikeouts.
