Fake MCSO letter in Ranchos

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware that residents in the Ranchos community have received letters bearing the MCSO logo regarding fines associated with shooting guns on New Year’s Eve. It is not an authentic letter.

Neither Sheriff Tyson Pogue or the Sheriff’s Office have issued any type of warning letters to residents, nor authorized any agents to act on our behalf in this matter.

The investigation into the identity of the individual distributing these letters remains ongoing.
