Failed intersection stop leads to fatality

First responders clean up after a two-car collision claimed the life of a driver on Avenue 25 and Road 9 on Tuesday.

 

Merced Communications Center received a call of a crash involving two vehicles, at the intersection of Avenue 25 and Road 9. CHP Madera Area officers responded to the scene Tuesday morning at about 5 a.m.


A 39-year-old woman from Chowchilla was driving a gray 2014 Nissan Altima, traveling southbound on Road 9, approaching the intersection at Avenue 25. 


A 58-year-old man, also from Chowchilla, was driving a gold 1996 Toyota Tacoma, traveling westbound on Avenue 25, approaching Road 9.
