Elks seeking veteran info for fundraiser

The Madera Elks Lodge #1918 is working on a military/veteran project for the Madera community.

The Lodge will raise funds for items to put into “Care Packages From Home” boxes. The group’s mission is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military heroes stationed in active-duty theaters around the world, and promote elevating the morale of all veterans. Included in this program is a special package, serving local transitioning, homeless, and at-risk veterans with food and hygiene items.

Receiving “Care Packages From Home” not only provides needed and familiar items but also reminds them they are not forgotten — that there are people back home supporting them.
