Crash leads to major injuries

The remains of a Mazda sit near a fence after it crashed Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the Mazda ran a stop sign and was T-boned by a pick-up truck. The driver of the Mazda and passengers sustained major injuries.
California Highway Patrol Madera officers responded to a vehicle traffic crash on Avenue 25, at Road 9, in an unincorporated area of Madera County.
During the investigation, it was determined a 33-year-old male from Sunnyvale was driving a white 2018 Mazda CX5, northbound on Road 9, approaching Avenue 25 at about 2:30 p.m. on September 23.
A 29-year-old male from Merced was driving a white 2017 Ford F-550, eastbound on Avenue 25, approaching Road 9.
