For The Madera Tribune

A car sits on railroad tracks off of State Route 99 after the driver over corrected when veering off the road. The driver hit a metal guardrail between the north and southbound lanes, then veered across the road before overturning on the railroad tracks on Friday.

California Highway Patrol Madera officers responded to a solo vehicle roll-over crash on northbound SR-99, north of Avenue 9 on Friday at about 1 p.m.

A 62 year-old man from Fresno was driving a 2001 Toyota Tacoma, northbound SR-99, in the No. 1 lane.

The driver drifted to the left, ran off the road and struck the metal guardrail. The driver then overcorrected, veered into the right shoulder, and overturned on the railroad tracks.
