Coyotes wear down Bearcats for victory
The Madera Coyotes football team stuck to its game plan and pulled away for a 42-21 victory Friday against the Paso Robles Bearcats.
After trailing at the half, 14-7, the Coyotes outscored the Bearcats 35-7 in the second half. The Coyotes ran 42 plays in the second half for 214 yards. Meanwhile, the Bearcats ran just 16 plays for 90 yards. The Bearcats outgained the Coyotes 191-115 in the first half to take the lead.
Madera gained more than 300 yards on offense, while the Bearcats gained 283 yards. They rushed the ball on 40 of their 44 plays for 216 yards. The Bearcats’ lone pass completion went for a 68-yard touchdown.
