Coyotes pick up rivalry win
Wendy Alexander/The Madera Tribune
Madera’s Samuel McDonald gets his attack by the block of Madera South’s David Felix during a three-set win over the Stallions. McDonald led both teams with 12 kills.
The Madera Coyotes kept the pressure on the Madera South Stallions, and came away with a 3-0 non-conference sweep Wednesday in Joe Flores Gym.
The Coyotes put away the pesky Stallions 25-21 and 25-20 in the first two sets, and dominated the tiring Stallions, 25-10 in the third set.
Although early in the season, both the Coyotes and Stallions looked to be in mid-season form. Between the two teams there were only 10 violations, eight by Madera South, and only 13 hits out of bounds.
