Madera’s Jazmin Rodriguez rises up for one of her four kills in a three-set victory over Matilda Torres on Tuesday in Joe Flores Gym. The Coyotes put away the Toros in three sets.

The Madera Coyotes showed off their experience right from the start and didn’t let up in a three-set, opening-season victory over the Matilda Torres Toros.

The Coyotes outscored the crosstown Toros 75-35 over the three set victory in a sauna-like Joe Flores Gym on Tuesday.

“We’ve been focusing on serve receive,” Madera head coach Meghan Haas said. “Our serve receive was on tonight. Our first ball contact was huge. We took care of most balls we should have.”
