The Madera Coyotes softball team scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning and pitcher Nastasha Griffin made it hold up in a 3-2 County/Metro Athletic Conference-opening victory over Bullard-Fresno

.

Griffin scattered seven hits and allowed two runs in the first three innings. However, she didn’t allow a run the rest of the game. She battled through traffic on the bases in four of the seven innings. She didn’t record a strikeout, but she didn’t walk a batter while allowing seven hits.

“Natty did a really good job of adjusting to the strike zone,” head coach Judy Shaubach said. “We didn’t have a strike zone up top. Natty did a good job of not losing her focus and making quality pitches at opportune times to take them out of big innings.”
