Coyotes hang on for victory

Madera freshman Savana Cortez connects on a second inning triple that gave the Coyotes a 6-2 lead. Madera held on for a 6-5 victory Tuesday over the Edison Tigers. 

 

The Madera Coyotes softball team looked like it was going to have an easy time with the Edison Tigers, but the Tigers battled back to pressure the Coyotes on Tuesday at Zimmerman Field. 


The Coyotes scored six runs in the first two innings, but a three-run fifth inning brought the Tigers to within one, but the Coyotes held on for a 6-5 victory on Senior Night. 


Madera scored six runs on seven hits in the first two innings. However, the Edison pitcher retired the final 13 Coyotes in a row.
