Coyotes get revenge win

Madera’s Nevaeh Galvan drives to make the tag and complete a seventh-inning double play in Friday’s 4-2 win over the Edison Tigers. Destinee Avila made a diving catch on a bunt for the first our. She threw to first to get the second out, but after some confusion, second baseman Kimberly Zarasua threw to Galvan to place the tag on the runner to make sure the double play was completed.
The last time the Madera Coyotes softball team faced the Edison-Fresno Tigers, the Tigers got a bases loaded walk for a victory.
Edison’s win over the Coyotes marked the first win in the series for the Tigers since 2017. The Tigers have never swept the season series since the Coyotes joined the County/Metro Athletic Conference, and the 2023 squad made sure it didn’t happen again.
The Coyotes scored a pair of runs in the second and fifth innings to secure a 4-2 victory Friday at Zimmerman Field in the Coyote Softball Stadium.
