CLOVIS — The Madera Coyotes closed out the Buchanan Easter Classic by not allowing a run in two games against Tri-River Athletic Conference powerhouses Clovis North and Clovis on Tuesday.

After a 6-0 victory over Liberty, and a 10-9 loss to Selma on Monday, the Coyotes defeated Clovis North, 7-4, in the first game Tuesday, and then defeated Clovis, 2-0, in the second game.

Madera pitcher Viviana Nombrano tossed a complete game victory in the first game, and picked up the save in the second game. Jayleen Gutknecht one-hit the Cougars through the first six innings in the second game to lift the Coyotes to the wins.
