Coyotes get 1k scorer and win

Madera’s Stevie Estrada rises over the Stallions for a jumper to score two of his team high 28 points in Wednesday’s win over Madera South. He also scored his 1,000th career point in the game, and now has 1,006.

 

For the second year in a row, the Madera Coyotes boys basketball team celebrated a 1,000-point scorer while picking up a 53-43 victory over the Madera South Stallions.


The Stallions had trouble finding the bottom of the net in the first half. They shot 11 percent (3-of-28) from the field in the first half, including 1-of-17 from 3-point range in Wednesday’s loss.


Stevie Estrada became Madera’s newest 1,000-point scorer with his 22nd point in the third quarter. He finished with 28 to lead the Coyotes. He now has 1,006 career points.
