Coyotes battle tough in loss to Panthers

Benny Munoz/The Madera Tribune

Madera’s Blake Burton bursts through the middle of the line to score a touchdown during Friday’s 25-22 loss to the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers.

The Madera Coyotes football team won five straight games after opening the season with a loss. However, the road in the County/Metro Athletic is a tough one after a 25-22 loss to San Joaquin Memorial gave the Coyotes their second straight loss.

The Coyotes had their chances despite getting stymied on offense. The Coyotes were just three-of-10 on third down conversions and gained just 237 total yards.

Meanwhile, San Joaquin Memorial tallied 366 yards, including 245 in the air.
