Cooling centers open this weekend

Due to the excessive heat wave expected to hit Madera this weekend, The Pan American Community Center will be activating as a cooling center.
Temperatures are expected to shoot over the century mark with 105 forecasted. Temperatures will hit 110 degrees on Saturday, 113 degrees on Sunday and 111 degrees on Monday.
The cooling center will be open Wednesday through Sunday at the Pan Am center from 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
