FRESNO — The Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) and the Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) held a joint media briefing Wednesday regarding a confirmed case of measles involving a Fresno County resident with potential exposures in both counties.
Both health departments are working closely with healthcare providers and state agencies to investigate this case, identify potential exposures, and implement preventive measures.
At this time, the risk to the general public remains low, as most individuals are protected through routine childhood measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination, which is highly effective in preventing infection.
