For The Madera Tribune
City of Madera workers dig to find the cause of water in the roadway on Yosemite Avenue last week.
The City of Madera’s water division discovered water emerging from the roadway at two different locations on Yosemite Avenue on February 5.
The decision was made to cut and dig between the two locations next to the water line to find out the problem, said Madera City Manager Arnoldo Rodriguez in a statement.
At about 2:30 that day, the efforts of the City’s staff led to the discovery of the leak’s source — a corroded galvanized pipe directly connected to the water main.
