Choir members gather for a photo at the surprise luncheon for their choir director for the past 44 years, Jim Bryan (front left), who is retiring and moving to Georgia.
Jim Bryan has been a choir director at St. Joachims Church since 1980. However, he and his wife, Jeanne, have decided to move to Grovetown, Georgia, to be near some of their children and grandchildren.
They have six children, five boys and a girl. In Georgia are grandchildren they want to live nearby and they are excited about the move.
Last Sunday, the musicians and singers of his choir gave him a surprise luncheon at the home of David Boyle, inviting priests, nuns, and a few other members of the church. He had been told it was a surprise party for Boyle, so he came armed with a birthday card for him.
