Chavez continues running legacy

Madera South cross country and track runner Isaac Chavez and his mother Eloisa are all smiles after he signed a National Letter of Intent to Sacramento State.
By signing a National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track at Sacramento State in the fall, Isaac Chavez joined his four other teammates to sign NLIs to four-year universities.
Chavez, along with Dylan Devine (Chico State), Adrian Hipolito (Chico State), Vidal Luna (Fresno Pacific) and Juan Ramirez (Fresno State), set the standard for any team to look up to — not only five signed to a four-year university with a scholarship, but all of the team’s seniors signed NLIs.
“I left my stamp here and four-year legacy here,” Chavez said. “It wasn’t four years. I got all my freshman year taken away and half my sophomore year taken away.
