Liberty’s Hudson Groh tossed 6 2/3 innings Tuesday to lead the Hawks to a 13-3 victory over Monache in the Div. IV Central Section semifinals to send the Hawks to their second straight Central Section championship game.

The Liberty Hawks have been trending to the Div. IV Central Section championship game ever since they won the championship last year.

The Hawks scored five runs in sending 10 batters to the plate in the second inning to cruise to a 13-3 semifinal victory over the 12th-seeded Monache Marauders on Tuesday to earn a berth in Saturday’s Central Section championship game at noon at Valley Strong Ballpark in Visalia. The top-seeded Hawks will face No. 7 Independence-Bakersfield.

The Hawks banged out 13 hits in the win on their way to a dominant playoff run. Liberty has outscored its opponents 33-4 in three playoff games.
