Madera South’s Alejandro Geronimo drives to the lane for a layup during Friday’s loss to Justin Garza.
The Madera South Stallions battled with the Justin Garza Guardians for the first quarter in a North Yosemite League match-up.
However, the Guardians kept making shots while the Stallions had trouble getting theirs to drop Friday night in a 78-55 loss at Madera South.
The Guardians took a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter and outscored the Stallions 45-24 in the next two quarters to take over the game. In the two quarters, the Stallions shot just 31 percent (9-of-29) from the field and hit two-of-11 3-pointers. They also committed 12 of their 18 turnovers in the two quarters.
