Arrest in Fresno River assaults
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference to announce an arrest made in multiple attacks along the Fresno River Trail.
Victor Hugo Valencia Reyes was booked into the Madera County Jail after being identified on video surveillance during a third attack on August 3. Reyes was arrested on Wednesday and charged with kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, brandishing of a weapon, robbery and criminal threats.
“This case exemplifies the power of collaboration, dedication, and the unwavering commitment of our law enforcement agencies to protect and serve our communities,” said Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue at Thursday’s press conference. “The successful resolution of this case highlights the unwavering dedication and seamless collaboration between the Madera Police Department and the Madera Sheriff’s Office. Our combined efforts and shared resources have ensured the safety and security of our community, demonstrating the strength of our law enforcement partnerships. I commend the tireless work of our law enforcement teams and the vigilance of our citizens, whose cooperation was instrumental in bringing this dangerous individual to justice.”
