A Clockwork Orange remembered
It’s funny how something can take you back in memory, and you remember something so vividly, so clearly. It could start with a smell, or a song, or something somebody says. It could be none of the above, but instead a series of thoughts that bring you to a particular time, long, long ago.
Memories may pop into your head because of an event or incident you recall, which sometimes starts a chain of thoughts and incidents. For example, if you see a drip of water on a mirror, it might make you think about a week ago when you washed the windows. You remember that while you were washing the windows, someone walked by wearing a purple shirt, and then as you think about the color of the shirt, you decide you don’t like that particular color purple, but instead you like lavender.
The word lavender might make you think of lilacs, because you prefer the smell of lilacs, but you don’t like the smell of lavender. You then remember one time someone gave you a lilac bush and you think of that person. She passed away a few years ago by getting a stomach bug because she ate spoiled food.
