The multi-agency Madera County Special Investigations Unit conducted an enforcement operation May 24 in Chowchilla in response to a recent increase in gang violence.
Jose Perales, Aaron Jimenez and Nicholas Hernandez were arrested for possession of loaded handguns, according to Sgt. Josiah Arnold of the Madera Police Department and Special Investigations Unit.
All three are active gang members in the Chowchilla. Jose and Aaron were arrested in the 1000 block of Trinity Avenue. Nicholas Hernandez was arrested after a short foot chase in the 800 block of Kings Avenue.
The Special Investigations Unit works out of the Madera Police Department, and investigates a variety of major impact crimes, including gang violence.
“We hope these arrests help to curtail gang violence in the City of Chowchilla and County of Madera as a whole,” Arnold said.
