Comedies planned for local stages
Madera and Madera South high schools plan to present high energy comedies on stage in coming weeks with MSTC’s “Lend Me a Tenor” and Coyote Drama Productions’ “The Comedy of Errors.”

Coyote Drama Productions and International Thespian Troupe #8160 at Madera High School will perform William Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors.”
“The story is a high-energy fun romp through the lives of two sets of twins, separated in infancy, then unexpectedly re-united to the confusion of family, friends, rulers, and wives,” said drama teacher James Gunn.
The show runs at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9-11 and 15-18. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
Madera South Theatre Company
Madera South Theatre Company will perform Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me a Tenor,” a play initially produced at West End and Broadway in the 1980s and winner of two Tony Awards.
The original comedy takes place in 1934 at a hotel in Cleveland, Ohio, and focuses on the general manager and stars of the Cleveland Grand Opera.
The show runs 7 p.m. Nov. 2, 4-5 and 8-11 as well as 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 4. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for students. Tickets are available online at etix.com.
