Leader of missions to speak in Madera
The Rev. Jim Stier will speak at Madera First Assembly Of God Church, 22444 Avenue 18 1/2 on Sunday at 11 a.m.
He graduated from Bethany Bible College in 1972.
He and his wife, Pam, were married in 1974, and celebrated their first wedding anniversary in Brazil, where they pioneered the work of Youth With A Mission in that country, and where they have resided since.
Over the years, a missions movement has taken root and flourished, Brazil being the second-biggest missions-sending nation after the United States.
Stier has served in many leadership functions in YWAM, including president and chairman of the mission.
Currently the Stiers travel the world, training leaders and serving on the Founder’s Circle as global elders. They continue to serve and keep their residence in Brazil.
