Floods menace county hillside
Rising water levels near Lewis Dam in northern Madera County have caused evacuations to take place in Cedar Valley.
According to Madera County Sheriff’s Cmdr. Bill Ward, evacuation warnings had been issued for Lake Side Drive south of the fire station, Cedar Place, Deer Run Trail Road, and Lazy Oak Drive. Mandatory evacuations were ordered for the east side of Church Street and the Bass Lake Mobile Home Park.
“Be aware of rising water levels and evaluate your conditions,” Ward said. “If you feel the need to evacuate, please do so.”
Evacuations have been made to the EV Free Church at 504443 Road 427 in Oakhurst, near Yosemite High School.
