The obfuscation of identity
It’s been almost a month since we at The Madera Tribune lost fellow employee and dear friend Leon Emo.
Since then, I’ve been going through the memories I have of him, cherished moments, often comical ones. I still hear his laughter after he would tell, sometimes, inappropriate jokes.
I still remember his bright smile, and how he always had a positive attitude when coming into the office, whether for work or just to visit friends.
Yet, all I have now are memories of the man who gave life to this, my hometown. To see the Madera of old, through Leon’s eyes, was a gift I couldn’t find anywhere else without looking for it, save from our local historian Bill Coate (an excellent writer, as well)...
