Fruit and Veggie Fest 2016 coming

Shoppers of all ages are invited to the Fruit and Veggie Fest 2016 on May 20, from 2 to 5 p.m.

In order to combat the epidemic of obesity, the Madera County Public Health Department and the Bridge Store at 748 N D St. will welcome families to fill their carts with fresh, frozen, canned, and dried produce, and sample healthy recipes.

Shoppers also can take part in in-store activities to promote a healthy lifestyle, and free blood pressure and blood-glucose screenings will be available.
