CLOVIS — Madera Unified Gymnastics was in trouble and about to be disbanded before Tammi Britton stepped up to unifiy the schools to make one gymnastics team a few years ago.
After 35 years at the helm of Madera Coyotes gymnastics, and then Madera Unified gymnastics, Britton is retiring, along with assistant coach Coleen Spraggins, who has been by Britton’s side for 15 years, and was a member of Britton’s first gymnastics team.
This year’s team tired to send Britton and Spraggins out with a Tri-River Athletic Conference championship, but came just short.
