Every ace can get hit around once or twice a season, at least. It’s a good learning tool for him. He has the potential to pitch at the next level so he has to learn that. He’s not going to have his stuff every single time. This is a good learning experience. Next time this happens, he will have gone through it and know how to work out of it.”

Relievers Bryan Malagon and Ivan Villafan allowed just two hits over the final 3 1/3 innings to give Sandoval hope for the future.

“Bryan Malagon, on the mound, was outstanding,” Sandoval said. “He’s going to be a tool for us the next four years. Ivan has come in all year with his sidearm delivery and keeps hitters off balance.”

The Tigers put a run on the board in the first inning, but Goodrich looked like he got into rhythim during a scoreless second.

However, he couldn’t find his control and allowed four runs in the third and two more runs in the fourth.

Edison had four hits with an intentional walk and a hit batter to take a 5-0 lead. Edison battered Goodrich for two more runs in the fourth off of two hits, a walk and a passed ball.

Malagon came in, threw one pitch and got out of the inning. Malagon allowed two baserunners in the fifth and another in the sixth, but got out of the innings without damage.

Villafan tossed a scoreless seventh despite hitting a batter.

The Stallions loaded the bases with one out in the first, but couldn’t get a run home.
