The Madera South Stallions girls volleyball team improved to 2-0 in its return to the North Yosemite League with a first-ever victory over new school, Sanger West.<\/p>

The Stallions outscored the Hornets 75-47 and trailed for just three points in Thursday\u2019s match.<\/p>

Madera South recorded 33 kills and 11 aces in the win. They had four hitters record five or more kills, led by Jazlynn Vargas and Danae Prudente with eight each.<\/p>

The Stallions will play their next two matches away from Madera South with their toughest NYL match on Tuesday.<\/p>

Madera South opened the match by scoring the first four points. The run began with a dual block by Jocelyn Prudente-Martinez and Angelina Aguirre. Vargas served up an ace and Prudente put down a kill for a 4-0 lead.<\/p>

A Prudente side out kill led to a 6-2 lead. Aguirre served up an ace and Anna Kajitani put down a pair of kills for an 11-4 lead.<\/p>

Sanger West cut the lead back to four, but a missed serve led to a six-point Madera South run.<\/p>

Prudente served up a pair of aces in the run while Vargas put down a kill for a 16-7 lead.<\/p>

Madera South extended its lead to 20-12, but Sanger West scored five straight points to get within three. Off hustle digs from Vargas and Diana Moreno, Aguirre put down a side out kill.<\/p>

Moreno served up a point for a 22-17 lead. After a missed serve, Prudente put down a kill and got the Stallions to set point with another kill off a Hornets\u2019 overpass. Sanger West then hit into the net for a 25-18 Madera South win.<\/p>

In the second set, a Kajitani side out kill and a pair of Vargas kills led to a 3-1 lead. Sanger West cut the lead to one, but a missed serve led to a Prudente kill for a three-point lead.<\/p>

After an Aguirre side out kill, Moreno served up two aces and Aguirre put down a kill for an 11-5 lead.<\/p>

Vargas put down a side out kill that led to a five-point run. Elissa Escobar served up an ace in the run. Hannah Eades put down a kill off a Sanger West overpass and Vargas added another kill for a 19-11 lead.<\/p>

Eades put down a side out kill while Vargas served up two aces for a 22-12 lead. A side out kill by Prudente gave the Stallions set point. After a Sanger West side out, Prudente ended the set with a kill for a 25-16 win.<\/p>

In the third set, Sanger West led 2-1 and 3-2 for its last lead of the match. A Kajitani kill led to a 6-4 lead.<\/p>

Escobar put down a dump kill and Aguirre added another kill for a 10-6 lead. After a Sanger West missed serve, Aguirre served up an ace and Vargas put down a kill for a 14-7 lead.<\/p>

Another missed serve led to an eight-point lead. Sanger West missed another serve and Vargas served up an ace for a 19-9 lead. The Stallions got back-to-back side out kills from Kajitani and Prudente.<\/p>

Kajitani served up three straight points to get to match point, leading 24-11.
