IV playoffs and did their part with two home victories and advance to a semifinal match at No 2 Minarets.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Hawks opened the playoffs with a three-set win over No. 14 Sierra Pacific-Hanford and then recorded an easy three-set victory over No. 6 Coalinga to set up the semifinal match.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>\u201cIt\u2019s definitely a success,\u201d head coach Brandon St. Lucia said. \u201cBut we\u2019re not done. Our goal is Valley. That\u2019s what we\u2019re out here to do. Two more wins to achieve that goal. A championship is what we want.\u201d<\/p><p> <\/p><p><strong>Coyotes advance in D-III playoffs<\/strong><\/p><p> <\/p><p>With a dominant victory to begin the postseason, the Madera boys water polo team earned a trip to today\u2019s Div. III semifinals at No. 3 Exeter.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The No. 6 Coyotes eliminated No. 11 Chowchilla with a 15-6 quarterfinal win at the McAlister Aquatic Complex.<\/p><p>It will be a rematch of last season\u2019s quarterfinals between Madera and Exeter, which came away with the 14-10 road win.<\/p><p> <\/p><p><strong>Stallions win Rich Parris Invite<\/strong><\/p><p> <\/p><p>In his final home meet on Nov. 6, Eduardo Herrera won the Richard Parris\/Saucony Twilight Invitational that was named after his former head coach who won a combined 12 Valley championships while at Madera and Madera South.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Running under the night sky at Madera South, Herrera won the 3,000-meter race with a time of 8:40.5 while teammates Miguel Villar (8:58.2) took second and Michael Ochoa (9:02.6) was third, respectively.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Madera South (19 points) won its second race in a row with Nicholas Hernandez (5th, 9:07.5), Victor Ochoa (8th, 9:15.9) and Adrian Alvarez (10th, 9:21.4) all placing in the top 10 out of 71 runners.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Veronica Ortega (10:55.7), Jonnie Montano (11:06.6) and Angelica Costilla (11:09.4) were the first three Stallion girl runners to finish out of 49.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Coyote girls easily won the Sierra Pacific Run with the Bear 5K race on Nov. 6 in Hanford.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>With a winning time of 17:59.8, Jasmine Gonzalez paced the Coyotes to a score of 15 while Coalinga (46) was a far second.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2015 The Liberty Hawks girls volleyball team was awarded a No. 3 seed in the Central Section Div.
