Anglers have a chance at snagging a portion of $55,000 at the annual Bass Lake Fishing Derby May 4 and 5.<\/p>\n
The annual event is sponsored by the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce, and kicks off the summer season at the lake.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a really fun event that is a great way to start the busy season here at Bass Lake,\u201d said Michelle Miller with the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce and Miller\u2019s Landing Resort.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt brings in a lot of families. What better way to bring the family together than fishing at Bass Lake.\u201d<\/p>\n
More than 1,000 tagged rainbow trout will be released into the lake prior to the tournament, each fish worth varying amounts. <\/p>\n
There will be 847 fish worth $20, 150 worth $100, 1 fish will net a lucky angler $5000, and two \u201cgrand prize\u201d fish will be worth $10,000 each.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll in all, entrants have a good chance of walking away with a nice payday,\u201d said Miller.<\/p>\n
Registration is $25 per individual (16 years or older), $15 for first child (under 16), $10 for each additional child (under 16). <\/p>\n
