No taking campaign funds from developers period. No favors. Term limits for sure!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cCindy Chidlaw Diaz\u201d<\/strong> wrote, \u201cSo true for all of Madera Government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maderans encourage others to seek employment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<em>The Madera County Workforce Assistance Center recently hosted a job fair at their facility. A notice for the event drew numerous responses from readers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cVickie Martinez\u201d<\/strong> replied to an earlier mention from \u201cVeronica Rodriguez,\u201d \u201cThank you comadra.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cRubiana Navarroo\u201d<\/strong> replied to a notice from \u201cIrma G. Avila,\u201d \u201cThank you!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cAvila\u201d<\/strong> responded, \u201cMake sure you take a resume.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cLuis Jauregui\u201d<\/strong> replied to an earlier notice by \u201cGloria Jauregui,\u201d \u201cFound a job thanks though.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cTony Montero\u201d<\/strong> wrote, \u201cLol &#8230;. how many people gonna tag other people and tell them get a job!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The center later announced a Harbor Freight store would open in the near future, with a hiring event coming in February.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cRyan Barnard\u201d<\/strong> responded to an earlier notification from \u201cKerri Kelton Barnard,\u201d \u201cWhat is harbor freight I heard of it don\u2019t know what they do tho.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cKerri\u201d<\/strong> replied, \u201cIts a place where they sell tools and stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>\u201cRyan\u201d<\/strong> replied, \u201cKerri Kelton Barnard oh ok.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rants and raves<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rant<\/strong> \u2014 A U.S. government-commissioned report by a panel of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine recommends significantly lowering the drunken-driving threshold from .08 to .05, according to a report from KFSN News. \u201cTony Montero\u201d wrote, \u201cWhy not just make it 0.0\u2026\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rave<\/strong> \u2014 Camp Fire Heart of California shared photography from its Great Employment &amp; Career seminar. \u201cCindy Chidlaw Diaz\u201d wrote, \u201cGreat group of young women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rant<\/strong> \u2014 City Hall saw an overflow attendance for Wednesday\u2019s (Jan. 17) meeting as residents voiced their concerns about the city council. \u201cMichelle Garcia\u201d wrote, \u201cSo why doesn\u2019t the Madera Tribune report the current high salaries of the county CAO and his deputy CAO positions? Wake up people! Why aren\u2019t you upset with our tax dollars paying for their outrageous salaries that the Board of Supervisors or Council approved. Not one employee is worth over a quarter of a million dollars in this City or County! Report that, Tribune!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Raves<\/strong> \u2014 The Madera Elks Lodge held an enchilada luncheon Jan. 20. \u201cJoan Brown Girl, don\u2019t I wish I could meet you and John there!!!!! In my dreams\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCindy Chidlaw Diaz\u201d wrote, \u201cFantastic lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rant<\/strong> \u2014 The Madera Democratic Club posted a notice regarding their Jan. 25 meeting, displaying door prizes being raffled (Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, a book by author Michael Wolff). \u201cLisa Garza\u201d wrote, \u201cPeddling a book that\u2019s been debunked? Isn\u2019t the party bigger than this?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rave <\/strong>\u2014 A Chowchilla Police Officer was performing a patrol check of the Chevron on Avenue 24 when he came upon a blue Mustang parked in the back parking lot at a Jack in the Box restaurant. Officer Cooper ran the license plate and was advised it was a stolen vehicle out of Idaho. The man in the vehicle, Anthony Madrid, was arrested and booked into Madera Department of Corrections for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. \u201cLigia Pacheco\u201d wrote, \u201cGreat job, officer Cooper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rant<\/strong> \u2014 The Madera Police Department released its log entries of incidents from Jan. 10 through 15. \u201cTony Montero\u201d wrote, \u201cLot of suspicious people!\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rave<\/strong> \u2014 The Portuguese Fraternal Society of America shared a video promoting their upcoming Filhoz sale set for Feb. 10. \u201cKim Burgess-Gomes\u201d wrote, \u201cYum! Need to place my order!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rave<\/strong> \u2014 Relay For Life of Madera shared a promotional photo of Minnie Mouse for its 2018 kick-off event. \u201cCindy Chidlaw Diaz\u201d wrote, \u201cLove Minnie!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rant<\/strong> \u2014 Madera County announced its 125th anniversary with a tidbit of history featuring a palm tree along State Route 99 between Madera and Fresno. \u201cMichael Gaynor\u201d wrote, \u201cToo bad they did not use a redwood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rave<\/strong> \u2014 \u201cFelipe Guzman\u201d announced his attendance of the Madera Unified School District\u2019s annual spelling bee, in support of Lexus Monique Guzman. \u201cFelipe\u201d wrote, \u201cVery proud of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Rant<\/strong> \u2014 In a recent exclusive interview with the Sierra Star, Madera District Attorney David Linn said his office has an ongoing investigation into what he calls inappropriate campaign contributions to supervisors David Rogers, Robert L.
