{"id":5113,"date":"2020-12-16T20:13:14","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T20:13:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maderatribustg.wpenginepowered.com\/?p=5113"},"modified":"2026-05-13T18:23:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T18:23:23","slug":"woman-hit-killed-by-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maderatribune.com\/es\/woman-hit-killed-by-car\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman hit, killed by car"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FAIRMEAD \u2014 An unidentified woman was walking in heavy fog when she was hit and killed.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>She was found by a passing motorist just before midnight Sunday near Fairmead Boulevard and Avenue 23, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Authorities with the coroner\u2019s office are looking for the public\u2019s help in identifying the victim and described the woman as a Hispanic female between 20 and 40 years of age.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>There was no identification near or with her when she was found, they said, and she may or may not be a resident of the area due to the area\u2019s proximity to State Route 99.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>CHP officer Greg Rodriguez said the investigation was ongoing but evidence found at the scene of the collision indicated the woman was in the middle of the roadway when she was struck.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is unusual to have a pedestrian in that rural location at that time of night. There are no streetlights, not many homes nearby and visibility was down to just about 100 feet because of the fog.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Chowchilla police had noted a silver sedan with front end damage earlier in the evening but they were unaware of the fatal hit and run at the time.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking for help from the public with this fatal hit and run.  Anyone that knows the identity of this woman, this vehicle or has information on this incident please contact our office at 675-1025.\u201d Rodriguez requested.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Valley Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP, pays up to a $2,000 cash reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in a crime, called into their tip line or made on their website.
