On Saturday, Tesoro Viejo will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community festival featuring music, food and family activities. Business and community leaders, as well as elected officials and the community, are encouraged to come together in celebration.

Tesoro Viejo’s town center is a place where you can meet neighbors for coffee, enjoy a local brew or sip wine at the local eatery, and enjoy community events at the event lawn in the center of it all. Nestled at the foot of Little Table Mountain, Tesoro Viejo is a site of about 1,600 acres of gently rolling hills and vistas. It is southeastern Madera County’s newest master-planned community just off State Route 41, just minutes north of the River Park Shopping Center.

“There is a feeling that is being captured here — and that feeling is one that you get from visiting main street of a small town,” said Robert McCaffrey, CEO of Tesoro Viejo Development. “The town center will be the place where everything you need and desire is here — a place to gather with neighbors, family and friends.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off the Oct. 20 event at 10:30 a.m., with festivities planned through 1:30 p.m. The event will feature Madera County Sheriff Jay Varney, Madera County Fire Chief Nancy Koerperich, the Madera County Board of Supervisors, Fresno State cheerleaders and mascot Timeout, Valley Children’s Hospital mascot George, Minarets High School drumline and cheerleaders, as well as business and community leaders.

Located in the town center is “The Hub” — Tesoro Viejo’s innovative welcome center with approximately 7,800 square feet — that will feature Axis, a neighborhood coffee bar and eatery, plus multi-use offices. Even before you arrive at Tesoro Viejo, you can see the tree-lined streets dotted with mature stately California Sycamore trees.
