Most people who know me are aware of at least three things about me:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
1) I have strong faith in God,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
2) I am patriotic; I love my country, and<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
3) I love coffee. A day without coffee is like a day without breath.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When I got involved with my church here, Madera United Methodist Church, I began to enjoy our social hour after church. It is a time we love to get together with cookies, coffee, and fellowship. Almost everyone who comes to the service also adjourns into the social hall to visit with each other.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I have always enjoyed that time of fellowship. However, when I began attending that church, what they served during the social time was DECAF coffee. Yuck!! I could not figure out what the point is in drinking decaf coffee. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I told the folks at church the only thing I don\u2019t like about that church, is that only decaf coffee is served. During one of my rants about decaf coffee, I found there were others in the church who felt the same way. We banded together in protest, and now both decaf and regular coffee are served.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My mother liked to drink decaf coffee. There were a couple of brands many years ago that she would buy, and she actually liked them. One of them was Sanka. I tasted it and just about gagged on it. This began my discrimination against decaf coffee.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t drink sodas or energy drinks. I just don\u2019t like them. Coffee is my drink of choice. I\u2019m bad about drinking water, even though I know I need to drink more water. It just doesn\u2019t have a good taste to me. It\u2019s kind of blah.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am aware that many people cannot drink caffeine. I respect that. I am very fortunate that caffeine has never affected me in the ways some have experienced. It doesn\u2019t keep me awake at night, and it doesn\u2019t give me the jitters. I do try not to drink too many cups of coffee in a day.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When I visited my doctor a couple of months ago for a checkup, I made it abundantly clear to him that I am willing to give up anything in my diet except coffee. He didn\u2019t even blink an eye at my statement. Fortunately, he didn\u2019t tell me I have to give up coffee.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My addiction to coffee is known by many, and that is OK. It almost assures me that the regular stuff will be available for me wherever coffee is served. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I love coffee, and I wish everybody did.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
