When their 14-month-old daughter began choking on the soft end of a pacifier, caregivers immediately called 9-1-1. Madera County Sheriff\u2019s Office Deputy Ronald Aguilar arrived quickly and began life saving measures. Working together with the caregivers, the obstruction was successfully dislodged.<\/p><p>Paramedics transported the child to Valley Childrens Hospital as a precaution. She was released shortly after and is doing well today.<\/p><p>\u201cWe are incredibly grateful for attentive caregivers and the training that our deputies receive to be able to provide the best care to our community,\u201d said Sheriff Tyson Pogue in a statement. \u201cIn any emergency, stay calm and call 9-1-1 immediately. We recommend taking a formal first aid training so that these skills can be used confidently when it matters most.
