No matter the size of your garden, yard, balcony, or patio, you can still provide options for birds, insects and other wildlife as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The best way to think about the needs of birds and beneficial insects like pollinators (bees and butterflies) and predators (ladybugs and praying mantises which hunt and eat aphids) is to consider what you need to survive \u2014 water, food, shelter, and places to raise young. It\u2019s also important to pursue sustainable gardening practices like mulching and reducing the use of pesticides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Water \u2014 Something as simple as a shallow ceramic dish, cleaned regularly, can provide water for a thirsty bird, insect or even toads and tiny frogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Food \u2014 Consider a variety of options from nectar and pollen sources (flowers) to host plants for caterpillars (think monarchs) to bird feeders to even providing a fallen leaf layer on the ground. The goal is to eventually incorporate native plants that provide seeds, nuts and fruits year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Cover and places to raise young \u2014 Wildlife needs shelter from bad weather just like you do, as well as safe areas to raise young. Mature trees, dense shrubs, fallen leaf litter, even a rock wall or brush pile provides critical habitat for both of these needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gloria Rodriguez, 70, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, aunt and friend, passed away on Sept. 1, 2026. Gloria was at home, surrounded by loved ones, at the time of her passing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born to Catarina Jasso on Nov. 13, 1955, in Madera, California, Gloria attended Madera High School, graduating with the class of 1972. She attended Fresno City College for two years, receiving her AA degree. She then attended Fresno State University where she obtained her Bachelor\u2019s or Arts degree in Home Economics and her Single Subject Teaching Credential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gloria began her teaching career at Avenal High School before moving back home to work at Furman High School for the remainder of her 35-year teaching career. Outside of her passion for teaching, Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, baking, traveling with her husband, sitting in front of the ocean and creating memories for her grandchildren who brought her so much joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Ricardo Rodriguez Sr.; her daughter, Kathryn Wilmer, and son-in-law, Joey Wilmer, and their daughters, Ellie and Annaliea Wilmer; her son, Ricardo Rodriguez Jr., and daughter-in-law, Jody Rodriguez, and their son, Sebastian Rodriguez; her mother, Catarina Jasso; her older brother Alfredo Jasso and sister-in-law Maria Jasso. She also leaves behind beloved aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many others who loved her dearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gloria is preceded in death by her younger brother, Steven Zamora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gloria leaves behind a legacy of devotion, strength, hard work, and above all love; love that will live on forever. Her life was one of faithfulness to her family, service to teaching children, and appreciation for the everyday joys that made life meaningful. Those who knew her will remember her warm smile, her adoration for her children, and the love she gave to all. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her husband, children, family and all who were blessed to know her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gloria\u2019s Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at Jay Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Eileen Catherine Foster, a lifelong resident of Madera, California, passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2026, at the age of 98. A devoted Catholic and beloved matriarch of her family, Eileen lived a beautiful life centered around faith, family, tradition, and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eileen was born on April 2, 1928, in Madera to Frank and Columba Brunolli. She attended Saint Joachim\u2019s Elementary School and Madera High School before continuing her education at a business trade school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Feb. 10, 1952, Eileen married the love of her life, Joe Foster Jr., at Saint Joachim\u2019s Catholic Church. Her love and devotion to Joe remained steadfast throughout their marriage, and in his later years, she became his primary caregiver, lovingly caring for him until the day he was called home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eileen began her career as a receptionist at Dearborn Hospital in Madera and spent many years working in the medical field. In the 1980s, she embarked on a special adventure when she opened a children\u2019s clothing store in Chowchilla called The Lollipop Tree. The store became a family affair, with her grandchildren serving as her models. She later returned to the medical field, where she worked until retiring in the late 1990s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Above all else, Eileen treasured her family. She especially cherished time spent with her siblings and was known for bringing everyone together, including organizing family reunions. As the last of nine siblings to enter Heaven, her passing marks the end of a special generation of the Brunolli family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eileen loved to cook, and her Italian dishes \u2014 especially her homemade ravioli \u2014 will forever be part of her family\u2019s memories. Her grandchildren will always remember holidays at Nonie\u2019s, particularly Christmas and Easter, filled with family, food, traditions, and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She was involved with the Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and the Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) and lived her faith through the love and care she gave so freely to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Columba Brunolli; her beloved husband, Joe Foster Jr.; her children, Mark Foster and Barbara Beltran; her sons-in-law, Mark Gurrola and John Gustafson; and her eight siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Gustafson of Clovis and Margie Gurrola of Madera; her son, David \u201cSmokey\u201d Rickerd and his wife, Becky, of Loma, Colorado; and her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Foster of Chowchilla; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were blessed to call her Nonie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To her family, Eileen was the rock \u2014 the one who brought everyone together and took care of those she loved for as long as she was able. Her family finds comfort knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with so many she loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her legacy will live on in the faith she shared, the family traditions she created, the recipes passed down through generations, and the countless memories made around her table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nonie was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eileen\u2019s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Madera Care Center on Howard Road for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they provided to her. We are especially grateful for the loving nurses who cared for Nonie and remained by her side until she took her last breath. After a lifetime spent caring for others, it brings her family great comfort to know that in her final days, she too was surrounded by such tenderness and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Jay Chapel in Madera, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Rosary will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Saint Joachim\u2019s Catholic Church in Madera, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ignacio Magos of Madera, three Sons: Ignacio Fabian Victor and Velinda (Inocencio) Magos of Fresno, Joaquin Anthony Magos of Madera, Michael Anthony and Erendida (Martin) Magos of Madera; two Grandchildren: Michael Anthony Magos II and Emma Mina Magos; two Brothers: Fabian and Marcos Adame; and three Sisters: Helen Flores, Margarita Adame and Inez Mazon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is proceeded in death by her parents, brothers: Richard and Lawrence Adame; sisters: Graciella Hernandez and Catalina Martinez; in-laws: Victor and Irene Magos; brother in law: John Flores; and sisters-in-law: Sara Adame and Henrietta Magos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her infectious laughter and smile were known to all. Some of her favorite things included: music and movies from the 50s and 60s, watching cartoons, drinking a margarita or a Bud Light, yelling \u201ckick it, kick it, kick it\u201d during soccer matches and \u201cget him\u201d during football games. She was also well versed in the false start rule in football and the traveling rule in basketball. She was an example for many peoples inspiration on how to live life and treat people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 from 12:30 to 1 p.m., at St. Joachim Catholic Church, followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 1 and Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30. Services will conclude at St. Joachim Church. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 25th anniversary of tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, Madera hosted its annual 9\/11 Firefighter Memorial at Courthouse Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before a standing-room only crowd, many came to pay their respects to the almost 3,000 lives that were lost that day before the 9\/11 Memorial Beam. The memorial is dedicated to honoring local, state and federal firefighters, as well as those who lost their lives on September 11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also a time to honor the five Madera County firefighters who lost theirs lives on duty \u2014 Clyde Hammond, Madera City Fire, 1940; Cecil W. Murrain, Chowchilla City Fire, 1972; Michael Macy, Sr., Department of Forestry, 1982; Richard Eddy, Department of Forestry, 1999; and Steve Wilson, Cal Fire, 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statements of Madera County Communications Director Alexan Balekian and Cal Fire Assistant Chief Larry Pendarvis set the tone for the ceremony to honor the fallen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are honoring a moment in time, a moment defined by what happened a generation ago, Sept. 11, 2001,\u201d Balekian said. \u201cIt was a normal Tuesday morning. Not a cloud over the New York skyline. Suddenly, without warning, that day turned into the darkest and deadliest day in our nation\u2019s history on American soil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToday, a new generation is just starting to learn about 9\/11, whether it\u2019s in their history books, YouTube, social media or documentaries on Netflix. But the place they learn more, year after year, are the stories of sacrifice and survival at memorials like this one. A single beam is not just any slab of steel. This beam is a beacon of hope, a reminder of resolve and an authentic relic of the World Trade Center. It\u2019s 14 feet in length. It\u2019s a steel beam honoring the fight for our freedom. It\u2019s a beam that honors our everyday heroes, the firefighters and first responders, the men and women who get up everyday, leave their families and run into the fire and run into danger, sacrificing their own lives to save others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwo thousand, nine hundred and seventy seven. It\u2019s a number we will never forget. To this day, a staggering 40 percent of the 9\/11 victims remain unidentified. Just recently, through new technology, the 1,651st victim was formally identified. It adds a new chapter against the evil that failed to tear us down, only to stand taller and stronger than ever before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHere we are, 25 years later, we will never forget. We will never forget where we were when it happened. We woke up that morning expecting an ordinary day. 246 passengers, 2,606 people at work, 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, 8 paramedics and 1 K-9 had no idea it would be their last morning. By 10 a.m., Eastern time, the world had changed forever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTonight, let\u2019s hug our families a little tighter, kiss our children, snuggle your animals, call the people you love because tomorrow is never promised. Sometimes, ordinary moments are the ones we never get back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will never stop telling these stories to the next generation of how the world stood still, how our heroes stood tall and how the resolve of the country stood untied. These stories we tell today are honest that will forever be the bookmark of our tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After listening to the chilling dispatcher calls from that fateful day, Pendarvis presented his speech to honor those whose lives were lost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeptember 11, 2001 will be a date that will be forever etched into the history of our nation and to the hearts of everyone that lived through it. 25 years have passed, yet the images of lost, courage and the extraordinary acts of selflessness witnessed that day remain as powerful as ever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeptember 11 was not just an attack on buildings or institutions. It was an attack on our nation, our communities, our families and our way of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe honor the 2,977 innocent lives taken from us. They were mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, friends, co-workers and loved ones whose absence continue to be felt. We also honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel, military members and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable danger. Among them were 343 members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) who answered their final alarm that morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey did what members of the fire service have always done. When others desperately try to escape danger, they move towards it. They climbed stairwells while thousands were coming down. They entered buildings knowing the risks because someone above them were in need. They answered the call. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor those of us privileged to wear the uniform today, September 11 carries a particularly profound meaning. We understand this service is more than just a profession. It\u2019s a commitment to place safety and the well-being of others before our own. The courage demonstrated by our brothers and sisters on September 11 demonstrated the greatest example of that commitment in the history of American fire service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOn this 25th anniversary, remembrance is more than looking back. It\u2019s a responsibility. An entire generation has grown into adulthood with no memory of Sept. 11, 2001. Many of our fire fighters entering our profession, today, were not yet born when the attacks occurred. As the years continue to pass, it becomes our responsibility to endure September 11 never becomes simply a date in the history books. We must tell the stories. We must remember the names. We must teach future generations about the courage, sacrifice, passion and the unity demonstrated that day. We must help them understand, not only what our nation lost, but also what our nation became in the days that followed. American stood together, communities supported one another, first responded worked without hesitation and strangers helped strangers. For a moment in our nation\u2019s history, differences seemed far less important than what united us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe also recognize the firefighters serving the front lines of the United States. Even as they prepare for another operational period and another day on the fire line, they too, will pause to remember those who came before us. Their service is a reminder that the legacy we honor today continues. It continues every time a firefighter climbs on a fire engine, every time a first responder leaves their family to answer an alarm, and every time someone steps forward when others are in need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwenty-five years later, our obligation is not simply to remember how those heroes died. It\u2019s to remember how they lived, how they served and what their example asks of us each day. We honor though our actions. May we serve our communities with courage and compassion. May we never take for granted the freedoms we enjoy or the sacrifices made to protect them. May we ensure those who came before us understand the significance of September 11, 2001 so that the memories of the ones we lost, the courage of those who responded and the unity our nation demonstrated will never fade with the passing of time. 25 years later, we remember. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congressman Adam Gray went on a \u201cDelivering the Valley\u201d tour to highlight more than $16 million in federal funding he secured for community projects.<\/p>\n\n
Gray visited Madera City Hall and Madera County offices on Thursday to announce $2.25 million in funding towards two projects.<\/p>\n\n
Gray also visited other sites to meet with elected officials to learn how the federal funding will help address local needs.<\/p>\n\n
The projects stretch across California\u2019s 13th Congressional District and include investments in water and wastewater infrastructure, public safety, roads and sidewalks, flood protection, community facilities, and other critical local needs.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cDelivering for the Central Valley means doing the work to make sure our communities have the resources they need to grow and thrive,\u201d said Congressman Adam Gray. \u201cThese projects represent real investments in communities across our district, and I look forward to visiting each one, hearing directly from local leaders about what they need, and continuing to work for the Valley.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
Gray secured the funding through the Fiscal Year 2026 Community Project Funding process, which allows Members of Congress to request federal funding for eligible local projects. Gray submitted 15 projects for consideration after receiving applications from local governments and organizations across the 13th Congressional District.<\/p>\n\n

Running back Diego Navarro finished out the game at quarterback by running the wildcat. He finished with 76 yards on 10 carries, and three touchdowns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Parra gained 59 yards on eight carries while the Stallions had 183 yards of total offense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other side, the Cowboys gained 374 yards of total offense, including 330 yards on the ground. They had two backs with more than 100 yards rushing, including one for 29 carries for 186 yards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Cowboys used a 12-play, 77-yard drive to score the first touchdown of the game four minutes into the second quarter on a 14-yard touchdown run on a reverse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Stallions got a 27-yard kick return from Michael Cuevas. Six runs by Parra moved the ball inside the Riverdale 20, but a sack turned the ball over on downs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Stallions stuffed the Cowboys on fourth-and four to turn the ball over. However, three incomplete passes forced a punt, and time ran out on Riverdale before the half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Stallions opened the second half by taking advantage of a short kickoff. The Riverdale kicker slipped on his approach, and the Stallions had a first down at the Riverdale 46. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A screen pass to Adam Sandez gained 12, and a penalty moved the ball to the 18. Sandez carried for 10. Then, Parra got the call up the middle, and ran over a defender at the two for a touchdown. Parra ran in the conversion for an 8-7 lead just two minutes into the second half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Riverdale took the ensuing kickoff and drove into Madera South territory. However, it took 10 plays to get there. There were also five penalties called on the drive, but the Cowboys threw incomplete on fourth down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Parra got the call on the second play of the next drive. He broke through a pack of tacklers at the Riverdale 40, and carried to the 16-yard line for a 32-yard game. However, he left the game, and didn\u2019t return. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Navarro got the call on three straight plays. From the nine, he went up the middle, and bounced to the left corner for the touchdown. Navarro found Jonathan Buendia in the end zone for the two-point conversion, his only pass of the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Riverdale started its next drive at its 43, and drove 57 yards on 11 plays to score from five yards out. They completed a pass into the end zone to cut the Stallions\u2019 lead to 16-15 with 9:36 left in the fourth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Riverdale tried an onsides kick. Madera South called a fair catch on the pop-up, and was run into for a penalty, and possession. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Navarro carried 13 yards on two plays to the 27. On the next play, he went up the middle, and bounced to the left. He went down the sideline for a touchdown, but a holding penalty was called. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On the next play, Navarro did, almost, the same thing, but from 10 yards further. He bounced to the left, evaded tacklers along the sideline for a 37-yard touchdown run. He finished off the drive with the two-point conversion run for a 24-15 lead with 8:16 left in the fourth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Cowboys returned the kick to near midfield, and a personal foul penalty was added on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sandez sacked the Riverdale quarterback to force a long third down. After a penalty, Riverdale completed a reverse pass for 18 yards. However, on fourth-and-five, Sandez pressured the quarterback into a throw. Elijah Chavez saw the fluttering throw, and caught it for the interception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, the Stallions had to punt after five straight Navarro carries. He also had to punt, and pinned the Cowboys at the three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Three plays later, Navarro stepped in front of a Riverdale pass for an interception. He returned it 41 yards down the left sideline to put an exclamation point on the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Cuevas hit the extra point for a 31-15 lead with 23.5 seconds left in the game. Save for their first and last drives that ended in punts, the Hawks scored a touchdown on six straight drives for a 41-12 victory Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Minarets scored a third quarter touchdown, and another touchdown with no time left on the clock during a running fourth quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Liberty got its usual performance from the ground attack with 235 yards. Henry Bilskey accounted for 171 yards from scrimmage, including 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Quarterback Brody Von Flue had his best game as a varsity player. He was 8-of-10 for 140 yards and three touchdowns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Liberty averaged 8.5 yards per play while Minarets averaged five yards. The Hawks held the Mustangs out of the end zone for the first half and until five minutes were left in the third quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Minarets won the toss, and took the ball, to open the game. However, the Liberty defense forced a quick three-and-out, and a punt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n However, Von Flue was sacked and the Hawks had to punt for just the third time this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Liberty defense, led by Deegan Shandor, Brody Sisco and Austin Graham forced another three-and-out. Brody Wilhelm broke up a third down pass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On the punt, the Minarets punter tried to run on the Liberty defense, and gained just two yards to give the Hawks good field position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It took the Hawks just three plays to find the end zone. Bilskey turned a third-and-10 into a 24 yard touchdown off a counter to give the Hawks a 7-0 lead with 4:51 left in the first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Badgers, on the heels of a Liberty penalty and three first downs drove inside the Liberty 10. The Mustangs faced a third-and-goal from the sixth, but as Shandor and Felipe Chavarria got to the quarterback, the throw went incomplete for an intentional grounding penalty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On fourth-and-goal from the 23, Minarets completed a 16-yard pass, but turned the ball over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Hawks went on their longest drive in terms of plays and yardage of the year. They drove 93 yards on 12 plays to get into the end zone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Benni Lounbandith opened the drive with an 11-yard gain. Bilskey gained 12 for a first down. Von Flue hit Tyler McCamey for 18 yards and a first down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Von Flue hit Tye Davis for 14 yards, and then hit Bilskey in the flat for a 12-yard completion to the Minarets 16. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Bilskey converted a third-and-two for four, and a first down. Two plays later, Von Flue threw deep down the left sideline into the end zone. Davis ran under the perfectly-thrown ball for a 28-yard touchdown catch for a 27-0 lead with 8:23 left in the third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On the next play from Minarets, Wilhelm picked off the pass. It took just one play for the Hawks to find the end zone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Von Flue faked a hand-off and rolled to his right and hit a wide-open Austin Graham at the five. He turned and walked into the end zone for another Liberty touchdown, just 19 seconds after the previous score. Carter Imperatrice made five of his point afters for a 33-0 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Badgers used a 52-yard kick return to get into Liberty territory. Six plays later, the Mustangs got on the scoreboard with a five-yard run on third down. The point after run failed for a 34-6 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Bilskey and Lounbandith got the carries on the next Liberty possession. They traded off six straight carries for a combined 45 yards to the seven. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Von Flue hit Bilskey in the flat, and he weaved his way through the Minarets defense for a touchdown, and a 41-6 lead with 48 seconds left in the third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Mustangs got a 19-yard run and another 25-yard run to get to the Liberty 24. In addition to the two fumbles, the Broncos got an interception return or a touchdown for the win, and gave Madera a second straight loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Darius White led the Coyotes with 98 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Quarterback Elias Mena was 25-of-32 for 319 yards. Lawrence Flores caught 10 passes for 166 yards and two scores. Jayden Martinez caught five passes for 60 yards. Jayden Perez caught three passes for 64 yards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Broncos used a strong rushing attack that gained 334 yards, including 38 carries for 263 yards by their leading ball carrier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Coyotes opened the game with a drive from the Madera 20 to the Clovis North nine. Mena hit Martinez, Flores and Perez for 28 yards to midfield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Flores caught a five-yard pass on third down to get to the nine. On the next play, a mishandled center snap in shotgun was picked up by Clovis North. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Broncos drove into Madera territory, but turned the ball over on downs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mena hit Flores for a 35-yard gain down the right sideline. He then hit Flores, twice, on quick screens to the right for five yards and an 18-yard touchdown. Carlos Ochoa hit the extra point for a 7-0 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Three plays later, Clovis North scored from 37 yards out to tie the score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Coyotes went on a 13-play, 53-yard drive to inside the Clovis North 30-yard line. The big play was a 31-yard pass to Flores on the right on third-and-12. However, the Coyotes were faced with a fourth-and-12, and settled for a 43-yard field goal from Ochoa that went wide right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On third down, Clovis North went back to pass, pressured by Martinez, and threw an interception to Xsavier Elenes at the Clovis North 20. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mena hit Flores for 12, and a first down. White finished off the drive from eight yards out for a 14-7 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Clovis North got the ball into Madera territory after a 33-yard run. Pressure from Martinez forced an incomplete pass on third down, and Clovis North picked up eight yards on fourth-and-13 to turn the ball over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mena opened the drive with a 17-yard gain. However, the Coyotes were forced to punt. Clovis North returned the punt 47 yards to the Madera 10-yard line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Broncos scored on the next play to tie the game at 14 entering the half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After a trade in possessions to open the second half, Clovis North used six straight running plays to finish a 68-yard drive. The touchdown was scored on a 37-yard run for a 20-14 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Flores returned the ensuing kick-off 57-yards, but a penalty moved the ball back. On third down, Mena found a wide-open Perez for a 60-yard completion to the Clovis North 13. However, two plays later, the Coyotes mishandled a hand-off, put the ball on the ground, and Clovis North recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Madera defense forced a punt, and the Coyotes gave the ball to White. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He carried on six of the seven plays of the Drive. Mena hit Martinez for an 18-yard gain to get the ball inside the 12. Four White carries later, the final from two yards out, gave the Coyotes a 21-20 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Broncos used a screen pass for 18 yards to get into Madera territory. The Broncos scored from four yards out for a 26-21 lead after the kick was blocked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n However, two plays later, Mena was picked off, and Clovis North returned it 25 yards for the touchdown. The two point run went into the end zone for a 34-21 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Keyed by a 30-yard run off a direct snap by White, the Coyotes answered the Broncos\u2019 score. He rushed 25 times for 232 yards and six touchdowns. He gained 148 yards on 17 carries with three touchdowns in the first half. He gained 84 yards on eight carries with three more touchdowns in the second half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Zachariah Granados also caught a short touchdown pass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Badgers threw the ball 27 times, but completed 11 for 121 yards and an interception. The Toros defense forced seven Yosemite punts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Warden opened the scoring with a 45-yard touchdown run on the\u2019 opening drive of the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After a Yosemite punt, the Toros drove 53 yards on 10 plays with Warden scoring from two yards out for a 14-0 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Badgers scored on the next play with a 49-yard jet sweep to cut the lead to seven. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Both teams combined for four punts on the next four possessions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n However, Torres\u2019 punt pinned the Badgers at the two. Yosemite punted out of the shadow of the goal posts and got it to the 28. Two plays later, Warden went off the right side for a 24-yard touchdown run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Badgers went back to punt on their next drive. The snap went over the punter\u2019s head and the punt went for minus-two yards to the Badgers\u2019 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, the Toros threw an interception two plays later. Camargo opened the drive with two carries for 18 yards.
