Add some chopped pork, if desired, for a main dish.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Many people are busy harvesting all kinds of garden bounty and I envy their ability to grow things in the ground without every kind of wildlife creature eating it all.<\/p>\n<br\/>\n<p>For me, it\u2019s the gophers.<\/p>\n<br\/>\n<p>We had so many holes in the ground around the house, the ground surface was caving in, making it dangerous to walk. My husband hooked a disc up to one of his tractors and eradicated all the holes and tunnels that were close to the surface. Doesn\u2019t look so great having a yard of dust, but that\u2019s how it goes.<\/p>\n<br\/>\n<p>I wish I could go back to the days when my dad would harvest buckets of produce, even though it meant my mom was going to have to do a lot of canning and freezing. I helped when I could. These days, I am limited to planting a container garden.
