The Chowchilla community is invited to come to Veterans Memorial Park at noon Saturday, to participate in the \u201cChowchilla Backs the Blue BBQ\u201d lunchtime event. <\/p>\n
\u201cShow your support as we celebrate the dedication and work of our local law enforcement on behalf of the citizens of our community,\u201d said Marty Piepenbrok, the city\u2019s director of recreation and community engagement.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice officers and non-sworn staff from various agencies will visit during the afternoon. There will be displays of vehicles and equipment, like the SWAT Unit. Learn about the various operations of our police agencies that serve and protect our community.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven if you don\u2019t plan to dine at the Chowchilla Lions Club BBQ \u2014 but are you sure you want to miss out on that? Be sure to stop by for the \u2018meet and greet.\u2019 <\/p>\n
Make a point to write your personal words of support on the \u2018Thank you, Chowchilla Police Department,\u2019 display boards that will be posted inside the Chowchilla Police Department as a reminder of your support for all they do each and every day.\u201d Veterans Memorial Park is on Robertson Boulevard at 6th Street. The barbecue costs $6. All proceeds will be donated to the Chowchilla K9 program.<\/p>\n
