When Madera South female wrestler Christina Jaen-Contreras signed her National Letter of Intent to wrestle at Life University near Atlanta, Georgia, she became the first Stallions’ female wrestler to earn a four-year scholarship.
“Everything happens for a reason,” she said. “I’m glad I was able to get a scholarship and end my senior year with how I did.”
Jaen-Contreras ended her storied, but rocky Madera South career with a Central Section Master’s Championship, basically a Valley Championship. However, she was injured during the tournament and couldn’t wrestle in the state championships.
