In Tuesday’s Presidential Primary Election, the local race many Madera residents were concerned about looks to have been decided.
Madera County Board of Supervisor, District 3 was run contested for the first time since 2016, and Robert Poythress is leading the race.
Poythress, who defeated Rick Farinelli in 2016 to earn his seat, has earned 58.16 percent of the 2,689 votes casted (1,564). His opponent, Cecelia Gallegos received 1,125 votes, or 41.8 percent, in the updated released by the Madera County Clerk’s office late Tuesday. The next update occurred Friday.
